What is Adopt-A-Block?
Adopt-A-Block goes out and serves the community in any way possible. Adopt-A-Block exists to build relationships and stay consistent in the community. Volunteers for Adopt-A-Block will take a mobile free store into “adopted” areas to serve people in need. Adopt-A-Block will distribute free essential supplies and prayer. Volunteers will also perform random acts of kindness in the community such as picking up trash, sweeping streets, raking yards, basically any way that we can help change the atmosphere of the community.
What is Our Goal?
It is our desire to be socially engaged; feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and visiting the prisoner; moving towards them with hands full. (Matt. 25:35-40)
We are here to find a need and meet it, find a hurt and heal it, find someone who is down and lift them up, find someone in darkness and lead them to the light.
Currently, through our partnership with Central Texas Food Bank, we are able to hold Grocery Giveaways in local participating Jr. High and High School parking lots. The food we receive is sorted, bagged and placed in lanes so that anyone in need can drive through these lanes without having to get out of their cars. Through the hands of volunteers each car is given grocery bags of produce, liquids of some kind and breads or pastry items
Our volunteers amaze us at how well every semi trailer is handled and distributed!
